Nice Job Trevor! I liked the angle drawings. That helped (visually) explain a lot! THANKS!

I finally had time to watch the whole video (our first blizzard of the season…). Great info, even for my students working on their axel. I would love to see a video of you teaching an axel from the beginning steps. Your students have such beautiful axels and I want my students to have beautiful axels too!! Thanks so much Trevor!

Hi Trevor – What exercises did you do with Colleen to increase her axel edge pressure?

Thomas, as I explained in the video, I worked on simple skid drills with this skater to get the skating foot pressed out in front, both with the free foot in front (like a T-stop) and also holding the free foot behind. Another great drill to use to develop this feeling is the hockey lunge where the skater exaggerates pushing the front foot forward to get more edge bite.
