Denise Myers is a World and Olympic coach who teaches in the Greater Chicago area (primarily at Twin Rinks in Buffalo Grove, IL). She has more than 40 years of coaching experience at all levels, from beginners through elite World and Olympic skaters. She has taught synchro, figures, group classes, choreography, and singles skating which is her current focus.

Denise has coached skaters at the highest levels internationally, including Junior Grand Prix events, Junior Grand Prix Finals, and Junior World Championships. At the senior level she has coached at Four Continents, numerous Grand Prix events, Grand Prix Finals, the World Championships, and the Olympics. Her most famous student was Bradie Tennell whom she worked with for many years, but Denise has coached many other very talented and well-trained skaters over the years.

Denise says, “On a day to day basis, I like the challenge of working with different levels of athletes and helping skaters grow and climb the ladder of success in our sport. One never knows where the next Olympian will be.” She continues, “I believe in the commitment to quality, sportsmanship, and creating a positive environment for my athletes to train and compete in. I also believe consistency, integrity and resilience are the keys to success. I work with my athletes on being both physically strong and mentally tough.”

One of Denise’s favorite quotes is one written by Aristotle: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act, but a habit.”
