This is the final edited version of the G2C 2014 Supercamp group number, performed in July 2014. The head choreographer on this piece was Doug Webster, and Doug utilized a number of assistants. Notice how the entire group is split up into smaller groups and the smaller groups have separate music and choreography.
These group numbers are always very popular among the skaters at every G2C Supercamp. Similarly, group numbers are usually very popular with skaters at local ice shows as well. Most skaters simply don’t get to skate “with” each other and these kinds of opportunities are very special.
For those interested in choreography, take a look at the dance step type choreography of each group. This type of choreography is possible to do in medium and small groups off the ice. By training these dance steps and movements off the ice, skaters get a chance to build an awareness and mastery of the movements in a much shorter period of time.
This is a great example of how to effectively deal with a very large group number. Please leave a comment.
